DEVICE FOR ADJUSTING THE INJECTABLE VOLUME OF A SYRINGE
Description
Adjusting the insulin dose in diabetic patients with high sensitivity or low dose needs is an important issue in diabetes therapy.
The syringes on the market have different capacities, from 0.3 ml to 1 ml capacity and a scale divided into ½ unit of Insulin (IU) and 1 IU respectively.
With the syringe, the highest precision that can be achieved is ½ IU. It has been shown that, in a group of individuals, using the syringe and for the same dose, there is a lot of dispersion in the dosed amount.
Thus, the present invention aims to eliminate the problems set forth above, by means of a device that increases the precision of the dose and the repeatability of the quantity dosed in order to improve dosing by syringe. This device is made up of a first and a second disc of the same diameter, attached by one of their bases and mounted along a common axis, with the ability to rotate independently on it.
Advantages
The present invention has the following advantages:
• Provide an optimal solution to insulin treatment when the amounts required are small.
• Provide a precision in the measurement of quantities to inject not solved so far in the syringes.
• Facilitate insulin treatment for children especially and those patients with high insulin sensitivity.
Uses and Applications
The present technology is useful to carry out, with great precision, the administration of insulin, being especially directed to patients with high sensitivities to the drug, being of great interest, not only for the medical field, but also for manufacturers of insulin syringes.
