DEVICE FOR IMPROVING ACCESS TO GARAGE DOORS

Description

Access to many existing underground garages is via a descent ramp that ends at the floor plan where the garage is located. This configuration, which in principle does not represent any inconvenience, can be problematic in the case of ramps with steep slopes because the front end of some vehicles can hit the ground at the end of the descent of the vehicle down the ramp.
The invention proposed is a device that can be attached to a garage door for the purpose of increasing the angle of attack in cases in which said door is located at the beginning of an upward ramp at the entrance to said garage.
The new device is adaptable to any existing garage door. The platform rotates until it rests in the intersection area between the ramp and the horizontal floor when the door is opened and rotates in the opposite direction until it is in a vertical position when the door is closed. To install it, in the simplest cases, it is only necessary to couple the platform to the desired position of the ramp or horizontal floor through a hinge or similar and connect a cable between the platform and the driving element of the garage door.

 

Advantages

The device of the present invention can be installed easily and quickly in any existing garage door, regardless of its operating mode.
Unlike the known solutions in which the access of the vehicle to the garage is not through an existing ramp, but through a mobile ramp, the invention solves the previous problem thanks to the provision of at least one platform It rests on the intersection area between the ramp and the horizontal floor to reduce the angle between them by dividing it into two angles corresponding to the two changes in inclination on one side and the other of the platform.
This platform will be connected to the door's own operating mechanism in such a way that, when the door is opened, it descends until it rests on the ramp and the horizontal floor in the position described, while, when the door is closed, it is collected in vertical position.

New system linked to the area of automation and mechanical engineering.
This system is positioned as a potential effective mechanism for controlling access to garages, as it has a system that allows solving the problem in the case of ramps with steep slopes, avoiding the impact of the vehicle on the ground at the end of the descent of the vehicle by the ramp.
