DEVICE AND PROCEDURE FOR CLEANING A WELL PLATE

Description

Currently, to clean the wells of a plate, a certain volume of liquid is deposited by gravity in each of the wells of one or more rows of the plate. Subsequently, that liquid is aspirated, repeating the process repeatedly. Then it goes to the next row and so on until the cleaning is finished. A drawback of this system is that the phenomenon of liquid dragging from well to well frequently occurs, with even reagent traces remaining on the upper edges of the well, which can alter the results of the tests carried out in the wells. plates. Thus, the present invention consists of a novel device that is capable of cleaning the wells of a plate, keeping it in an inverted position. In turn, the device allows the performance of work techniques such as ELISA or similar, keeping the plate in an inverted position, both during seeding or reagent application operations and in cleaning operations.

Advantages

Among the advantages of the present invention, the following stand out: • It is possible to fill all the wells with liquid in a much faster, cleaner, uniform and simultaneous way throughout the plate. • It allows to use much smaller reagent volumes, up to 1000 times, achieving greater efficiency in the tasks to be carried out. • A more complete cleaning is achieved, since the remains adhering to the well, as well as the cleaning liquid, no longer remain stagnant at the bottom of it.

Uses and Applications

The present invention is very useful for cleaning well plates used in tests carried out within the biological and chemical field.
