OCTOPUS TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM FOR AQUACULTURE
Description
One of the factors to be considered in the fattening of octopus (Octopus vulgaris) is an adequate supply of fingerlings, which implies not only a sufficient and sustainable capture in the high seas, but also the control of mortality or of the injuries or stress that these fry may suffer during the transport and release process in the corresponding facilities on land.
The present invention refers to an octopus transport system whose object is to allow a reduction in mortality or injuries or stress that may be suffered by octopus fry caught in the high seas during the process of transporting and releasing them in the corresponding land-based facilities.
Advantages
The system allows the individualized and safe transport of octopuses, preventing them from suffering injuries, either caused by other octopuses or by objects such as other transport systems. Once captured, the octopuses are introduced individually in systems that are in turn placed in containers or transport tanks in which adequate conditions are maintained for the survival of the octopuses during transport and until their release in the culture tanks on land.
Uses and Applications
The present invention belongs to the aquaculture sector. In particular, the present invention relates to a system for transporting octopuses suitable for their survival to culture tanks on land.
