SYSTEM FOR MONITORING A DISTILLATION COLUMN
Description
At present, in a distillation column, the selection and implementation of the optimal control strategy that defines both reflux and heating is relatively complex, since in a distillation column, analytical knowledge of the process is required as well as that of the properties of the system to be distilled, with strong interactions and couplings between the different control loops. In this sense, the control systems developed have a disadvantage, being closed software applications that are not reconfigurable, making the control of a distillation column more complex and lengthy and even more so when you want to change the operating conditions.
Thus, the present invention introduces a distillation column monitoring and control system that is implemented under a centralized digital control scheme. The invention comprises a set of hardware devices connected to a processing unit where the status and conditions of the column are shown to the user in the desired way; as well as the monitoring and control procedure using the indicated system.

• Handling of processes with different time dynamics.
• Development flexibility for reconfiguration of the control system.
• Allows manual or automatic handling of the distillation column.
• It allows the variation of the tuning parameters of the neurogenetic controller and of the different parameters.
Uses and Applications
The present technology is useful for carrying out techniques in the dynamics and control of processes, and more particularly, with a monitoring and control system for a distillation column, typical of chemical processes.
