OPENING TENSION FOR EXTERNAL PELVIS FIXER
Description
Currently, the treatment for certain types of pelvic fractures is carried out with the help of an external fixator that, through nails inserted into the pelvic bone, stabilizes the fractured pelvis. Recently, a new external fixator has been used, consisting of a curved elastic bar to which nails are attached that are inserted into the pelvic bone, achieving better results than traditional fixators, however, to use this fixator it is necessary to open the arms of the elastic bar, overcoming its resistance, something that could be carried out manually. But there are cases in which it is essential to have greater control of the movement of the ends of the fixator, as they may require the exercise of excessive force to do it manually. Thus, the present invention consists of a tensioner specially designed for the opening of an essentially semicircular curved elastic external fixator, which allows controlling the movement of the ends of said fixator, achieving its opening in a regulated manner.
Advantages
The main advantage of the present invention lies in its own objective, which is to help open the arms of the external pelvic fixator, maintaining the opening control and helping in the force to which said fixator must be subjected.
Uses and Applications
The present invention belongs to the field of medicine, specifically to the area of fixation procedures in pelvic tears, helping in the correct use of external pelvic fixators.
